The journey starts

This is my first project published on itch.io. It’s moving out of the prototype phase and become an active development of what I would call an FM Synthesizer inspired by 80’s hardware.

For the technical musicians and developers out there: the engine runs at 32,767 Hz using 24-bit integer arithmetic. The output signal is regulated to CD quality, so the machine interpolates samples to reach 44,100 Hz and reduces the bit depth down to 16 bits.

There are some limitations at the moment: I’m currently targeting macOS only, but support for more platforms is coming soon.

The synth also lacks some basic features, such as polyphony and advanced MIDI controls like modulation and pitch bend. I’d really appreciate it if you gave it a try and shared your feedback whenever can :)
